Nuisance Animal

The City of Truth or Consequences responds to nuisance animal concerns that affect public health, safety, or neighborhood quality of life. Common issues may include excessive barking, animals running at large, aggressive behavior, or unsanitary conditions.

Report a Nuisance Animal
To report a nuisance animal within city limits, contact Dispatch at (575) 894-7111. Please be prepared to provide:

  • The location of the animal
  • A description of the animal
  • Details about the concern
  • The date and time the issue occurred

What Happens Next?
Code Enforcement staff will review the complaint and investigate as appropriate. Depending on the situation, staff may contact the animal owner, provide education about City regulations, or take enforcement action when necessary.
