Police Records Request
Under the New Mexico Inspection of Public Records Act (IPRA), NMSA 1978, Sections 14-2-1 through 14-2-12, every person has the right to inspect public records maintained by government entities, except as otherwise provided by law.
Please note that the Truth or Consequences Police Department maintains certain records separately from other city departments. For this reason, a second records custodian has been designated specifically for police department files. This form is submitted for the purpose of requesting records held by the Truth or Consequences Police Department.
If you are seeking general public records for other city departments, please visit the main Public Records Request page.
Requests will be processed in accordance with IPRA requirements. The City will respond within three business days of receipt of the request, as required by law. If inspection or delivery of records cannot be completed within this timeframe, you will receive a written explanation and an estimated date of completion.
