Advisory Boards & Commissions

The City of Truth or Consequences is proud to be guided by a network of dedicated advisory boards and commissions, each composed of community volunteers and/or City employees who generously contribute their time, insight, and passion to help shape the future of our city.

These boards serve in an advisory capacity to the City Commission, offering thoughtful recommendations on a wide range of topics—from planning and zoning to recreation and infrastructure. While they do not make final decisions, their input plays a vital role in informing city policies, programs, and priorities.

Why Advisory Boards Matter:

  • Community Voice: Boards provide a structured way for residents to participate in local government and ensure diverse perspectives are considered.
  • Informed Decision-Making: Members bring valuable expertise and lived experience, helping city leaders make well-rounded, community-focused decisions.
  • Civic Engagement: Serving on a board fosters a deeper connection to the city and empowers residents to take an active role in shaping its direction.
  • Transparency & Trust: Advisory boards promote open dialogue between the public and city officials, reinforcing accountability and trust in local governance.

Volunteer-Driven, Community-Focused
All board and commission members are volunteers—neighbors, business owners, retirees, and professionals—who care deeply about Truth or Consequences. Their service reflects a shared commitment to collaboration, transparency, and the well-being of our community.
